I have been working at a Christian daycare fro over
5 years now, and one of my favorite times are the
beggining of a new month so I can do a bulletin
board! I love to try to be creative.
This board I
just taped construction paper together and
shaped it from there, I did my trees and the
building free hand. I love to try new things
to put on my boards! The apples on the trees
have the children's names on them.
Easter basket
I made to put up for the April board but
I did not get a picture of the board done
sorry!
March / St. Patrick's Day
I had not titled it before I took the
picture it was titled "we are all gold in
God's eyes" on that one I made the pot of
gold out of I believe it was 6 pieces of
construction paper taped together and drew
the pot and cut it out then I made a big
sheet of yellow and traced circles for the
gold in the pot, but the gold out of the pot
was individual circles of gold
Winter / Fireplace
Spring
I did last spring I colored and laminated
everything because they tried to curl up on
me! then I had all the kids colored their
own butterflies and I put them up all over
around the stuff I put up there first.
<------Close up
These are pictures of my
fall bulletin board,
the first picture is the full board all the
way complete, the second one is a close-up
of "Harold" the owl, I worked on him so hard
I had to name him, he is made out of
construction paper, I freehanded him, he was
so much fun to make! I put him on a tree
branch but he was so big I had to make it
look like the tree was only part way on the
board. Then for the border I cut out a leaf
pattern and balled up wax paper and painted
the leaf with the ball of wax paper dippin
in orange paint, then dipped in brown paint,
then the last step was dipped in red paint,
I painted them like you would sponge paint.
then I painted a picture of a pumpkin and
put the children's names on that. With the
left over leaves from what I did the border
with I scattered in the empty spots, I put
the left over pumpkins on there as well just
in case we have new kids start here, and
they will be able to have a pumpkin as well.
Thanksgiving bulletin board, I drew the
Cornucopia and painted it brown, waited for
it to dry and added the decorative border so
it looked more realistic with brown marker,
I then drew all my fruits and vegetables. I
made the fruits and vegetables out of
construction paper and cut them out and
added any details needed. I hung the
Cornucopia on the board then used a razor
blade to cut just along the inside of the
decorative border so that I could tuck the
fruits and vegetables so they looked as if
they were actually spilling out of the
Cornucopia. I have not yet put up a header
for this board, I am looking for the best
verse that "fits"
Christmas / Nativity
I made everything for
this board, I enjoyed doing this one very
much, I cut strips and put them together for
the nativity and them made Mary and Joseph,
but I cut the baby Jesus out of a workbook
from the Abeka Curriculum, I watered down
brown finger paint and painted yellow paper
with it and cut it in thin strips and then
cut it the other way to make straw, I
laminated it all so it would keep better,
and also to keep the "straw" from making a
mess so that it wouldn't fall off all
over the floor. I made the angels and
glittered their wings. I then cut out
musical notes from foil, (thanks to a co
worker drawing them, I can not draw those to
save my life, lol) and I got the title from
my Mom saying something about "Hark the
Herald Angels Sing" so I said how about use
the name of the daycare instead, Jack and
Jill.
